Malika Sends a Clear Message Via New Song ‘Better As Friends’


‘Better As Friends’ confronts the awkward “What are we?” question that often sends budding relationships into confusion, which is depicted in superb detail by Malika, who on this occasional tears the scenario that usually sees the female looking for the security of a relationship. Malika warns her male counterpart not to catch feelings for her as he’ll only be disappointed while urging him they’ll be better purely within a friendship.

Malika displays her strength as a writer and vocalist throughout the electro-R&B track that sees the talented artist continue to build on her exciting reputation. Her previous single’Stranger Things’ received huge support from influential publication Noisey, and Radio support from Pulse FM, Reprezent, BBC Radio 1xtra and BBC Three Counties.

Malika’s 2017 debut EP Songs About C led to the artist being named as part ofThe Independent’s2018 Ones To Watchlist and contribute performances to prominent platformsRedBull, COLOURS BerlinandMahogany.
